Welcome to Green Panther owned and operated by Sri Lakshmi Sarada Educational Trust, which was  established in the year, 2014.

            We have been conducting  various educational activities under this trust, since its establishment. Now we would like to further extend our activities to various  service  sectors like  Nature  & Forest Schools, Skill Development Centers, Education to poor and deprived, along with an Old Age Home.

             Our main motto is bring about a concept of  traditional Gurukulam with Moderate equipment and advanced technology, to  enable the present generation to understand and  amalgamate with  the nature. 

 

             In rural areas and historical times, access to nature has never been a problem. For thousands of years, Indigenous people have been raising and teaching their children away from their homes, and living on more rural land with less population density.  This concept of ‘Nature and Forest Schools’ from historical times has meant an abundance of opportunities for people to be in nature.

Over the last century, with increasing urbanization and with the rise of “nature deficit disorder”, there have been many changes in stance on formal outdoor education.

An “open-air Schooling” witnessed an improvement in child health. Over the last few years Forest School or nature school programs have been increasing in popularity In India and other countries.

Despite great regional variance in length of day, environment, age of learners and climates, all Forest and Nature Schools provide “regular and repeated access to the same natural space, as well as emergent, experiential, self learning, inquiry-based, play-based, and place-based learning”. In this way, children are able to build relationships with the land around them, with the educators, with their peers and ultimately  with themselves.

 Our programs are held almost exclusively outdoors. Whatever the weather, children are encouraged to play, explore and learn in a forest or natural environment. The adult supervision is meant to assist rather than lead. Educator to child ratios is generally low, with a group of 4 to 20 children that are generally led by at least two Nature Educators, depending on the age range of the program.

Nature and Forest Schools can be described as a classroom “without a ceiling or walls”. The educators and children spend their time outdoors, typically in a forest or on a beach or in fact any natural environment can be home to a Nature and Forest School. A distinctive feature of early year’s programs is the lack of commercial toys or manipulative found in indoor centers, rather the emphasis is on play with objects that can be found in nature. The purpose of Nature and Forest programs are the same as more traditional counterparts: namely, to care for, stimulate, and educate children.
